System Engineer (W-M)
Are you driven by the challenge of pushing low-power analog design to new limits?
At Dolphin Semiconductor, in the heart of Montreal, we're not just designing analog circuits — we're rethinking how to make them more efficient, more compact, and more intelligent. Our team specializes in sub-threshold design and develops cutting-edge solutions for energy-constrained applications.
To support this mission, we are looking for a System Engineer (W/M) to join our Voltage Regulator design team. In this role, based in our Montreal office, you will take ownership of the Power Management Unit (PMU), ensuring its performance, safety, and integration are fully optimized through advanced simulation and validation techniques.
As a System Engineer, your main missions are :
• You will assemble the whole PMU (which consists of various DC-DC regulators and other IPs and other IPs), assessing the capability to share pins/pads, etc. to provide an optimized PMU integration.
• You will verify, via simulations, the whole PMU performance under various aspects, such as safe booting sequences, noise propagation, IR voltage drops etc. You will create Verilog-A models of part of PMUs to ensure efficient simulation runtime.
• You will simulate and verify customer use-cases and participate in problem solving at PMU level with customers’ customized PMU requests.
• You will identify, study, and propose new PMU features and optimizations to be implemented in our product roadmap.
You're about to become a dolphin..
You have a solid background in analog electronics, ideally at the system or discrete component level. You are comfortable working with analog simulation tools such as SPICE, HSPICE or Spectre, and you are capable of interpreting complex circuit behaviors. Experience in schematic analog design is expected — whether in microelectronics or broader electronic domains.
Knowledge of Verilog-A or Verilog is a plus, as is familiarity with mixed-signal simulation environments. Basic scripting skills (e.g. for automation or data extraction) would also be appreciated.
Beyond technical skills, you are:
A quick learner, curious and proactive in exploring new concepts,
Strong in analytical thinking and problem solving,
Able to communicate technical ideas clearly, both within the team and with non-specialist stakeholders,
If you are passionate about analog innovation and enjoy pushing simulation to its limits, we’d love to meet you.
Benefits of becoming a Dolphin:
- As part of the Dolphin Semiconductor group (130 employees), you will join a human-sized team of about 20 people based in downtown Montreal. Our new, modern office is conveniently located near the "Du Collège" metro station.
- We offer a flexible hybrid working model: up to 20 days of remote work per year, or the possibility of regular remote work depending on your situation.
- While being fully integrated into the team, you will enjoy autonomy and the opportunity to express your creativity by contributing to innovative projects developed by Dolphin Semiconductor.
- Compensation will be based on your experience.
- You’ll benefit from over five weeks of paid vacation (27 days), access to virtual healthcare, and a 50% employer contribution to the group health insurance plan.
- You'll also work with high-end design tools. The products developed at our Montreal site are exclusive to the Canadian team — giving you the opportunity to stand out through your creativity and technical innovation.
